Dear Mayor Jackson and Delta Council,
The members of Tsawwassen Residents Against Higher Voltage Overhead Lines, on behalf of all residents of South Delta, wish to express our sincere appreciation to yourself and all members of Delta Council for your unanimous and continuing support for the residents of South Delta with regard to BC Transmission Corporation’s proposed Vancouver Island Transmission Reinforcement (VITR) Project.
We are of
course disappointed that BCTC has not chosen a new route that avoids South
Delta entirely. Residents oppose the plan to route through Tsawwassen, either
in the existing right-of-way or the streets.
We recognize
that there is still considerable work to do. We look forward to working with yourself,
council members, George Harvie and municipal staff going forward, to strive to convince the BCUC of a viable alternative that meets the needs of
BCTC, the residents of South Delta and Vancouver Island and that contributes to
the overall long term prosperity and well being of our community and British Columbia.
Thank you
again from all of us.
Sincerely,
Tsawwassen Residents Against Higher
Voltage Overhead Lines

Neil Atchison, P.Eng. Cecil Dunn
